Two busiest roundabouts in Ambala city to have traffic signals soon

AMBALA: The Ambala City municipal corporation (MC) going to install traffic signals at two of the busiest roundabouts of the city to tackle the problem of traffic jams at these spots.

Tau Devi Lal Chowk, also known as Manav Chowk, and Agrasen Chowk, both on Ambala-Hisar the National Highway , remain busy throughout the day as the road passes through the city.



The residents said the installation of traffic signals would provide relief to local commuters from the long traffic jams very often faced by them at these two roundabouts during the rush hour.

Manoj Sabharwal, a daily commuter in Ambala City, said, "During the rush hours, the inter-city traffic on Ambala-Hisar highway gets merged with local traffic, resulting in traffic jams. The parents of school-going children and city residents have to pass through the traffic of heavy vehicles . Several fatal accidents have taken place on this road."

"Some crucial spots have been identified in city. These two roundabouts remain busy throughout the day, so it has become to control the flow of traffic on these spots. Presently, work for the installation of traffic signals has been started at these roundabouts and in the coming time more locations will be identified and traffic lights will be installed," said Surender, SHO (Traffic), Ambala.
