Two COVID-19 patients die of other health issues in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Two COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at COVID hospitals in the state died due to other health complications today, informed Health and Family Welfare Department.

Out of the  two deceased, one is a 72-year male of Balasore district. The elderly man suffering from blood cancer and other chronic ailments had tested positive for coronavirus.

However, he succumbed to his chronic ailments, said the H and FW Department.

As per the death audit report, the cause of death is chronic myelogenous leukemia, it added.

The other deceased was a 42-year male of Khordha district. He was suffering from chronic liver disease and Hepatitis B and was admitted to COVID hospital after being tested positive for the virus.

“However, he succumbed to his chronic ailments. As per the death audit report, the cause of death is decompensated liver disease with Hepatitis B,” said a statement issued by the department.

Worth mentioning, as many as 63 persons tested positive for the virus in last 24 hours taking the total count in the state to 1723.
