Two killed, 40 injured in bus-oil tanker collision in Assam's Kaliabor

Guwahati, Oct 9 (IBNS): Two persons were killed and 40 others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and an oil tanker at Kaliabor area in Assams Nagaon district on Wednesday.

The incident took place on National Highway 37 at Kanchanjuri area near Kaliabor in Nagaon district, where a bus with 40 passengers on board collided with an oil tanker coming from the opposite direction.

According to the reports, the passenger bus bearing registration number AS-01HC-8887 was moving towards Jorhat when it collided with an oil tanker bearing registration number AS-01DC-4056.

Two passengers of the bus died on spot and 40 others were injured.

Locals and police have rescued the injured persons and admitted them to Kaliabor and Nagaon civil hospital.
