Two killed in road accident in Kandhamal; locals stage road blockade

Daringbadi: Tension prevailed in Daringbadi area of Kandhamal district today after hundreds of locals blocked National Highway-59 following the death of two persons in a road accident which occurred late Friday night.

One Kiliyan Pradhan and his nephew Subaham Pradhan of Dabulumaha village were critically injured after the bike they were riding was hit by a tractor at Sulumaha ghat under Daringbadi block in the district.

Later, some locals rushed them to Daringbadi hospital.

While Subaham died during treatment at the hospital, Kiliyan was shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur after his condition deteriorated.

Enraged over the incident, local residents blocked the Bamunigaon-Daringbadi road affecting vehicular movement on the route. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
