Two Majha district, toll climbs to 117: Five more die

With five additional passings in Tarn Taran and Amritsar in the previous 24 hours, the cost in the deceptive alcohol misfortune has mounted to 117. Three passings were accounted for in Tarn Taran and two in Jandiala Guru, Amritsar.

Residents asserted that those engaged with the unlawful alcohol exchange had gone underground.

They reprimanded the police for neglecting to act against the smugglers, some in any event, asserting intrigue. Jagjit Singh Walia, SP (D), Tarn Taran, said the guilty parties would not be saved. The Amritsar (Rural) police busted three unlawful refineries in Bhangwa, Chak Mishri Khan and Bhindi Saida towns and captured 13 smugglers. The Tarn Taran police booked 40 smugglers and captured 13 people.
