Two more TRS MLAs test Covid positive

HYDERABAD: Two TRS MLAs and an MLC have tested postive for Covid19. Ramagundam TRS MLA Korukanti Chander and Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy joined the list of public representatives who had tested positive for Covid-19.

The legislator from Peddapalli district informed that he got tested after Ramagundam mayor Anil Kumar was positive for Covid-19.

Both took part in a tree-planting programme ‘Vanamahotsavam’ in Singareni collieries.

“I am in the hospital and recovering. I hope to be back to serve you all,” the 48-yearold MLA told people of his constituency through a video message. Chander got himself admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad a week ago after he tested positive. The MLA said that he would stay away from people for at least another 10 days.

In the wake of the pandemic he urged people to take all the necessary precautions. On Monday, he put up a Facebook post informing them about his health. “There is nothing to worry about my health. Some people are spreading misinformation that I had gone missing. This is to inform you all that I am in the hospital,” he said, explaining the reason behind making the video.

The MLA said the virus had now reached the stage of community transmission. “In these circumstances we should take more precautions. The government is doing its best but people also should take care,” he said.
