Two petrol station employees shot at in Motihari

MOTIHARI: Unidentified bike-borne criminals looted Rs12 lakh from a petrol station after shooting at its two employees at Lauriya under Gobindganj police station area on Monday. The miscreants, later, threw the bag stashed with the cash after locals confronted them near the petrol station.

Areraj SDPO Jyoti Prakash told this newspaper that criminals shot at Bharat Bhushan Singh and Anand Gupta and they were rushed to Motihari sadar hospital for treatment.

“The criminals had come to kill Singh, but the bullet hit him in his leg,” he said.

Police sources said Singh has lodged a case against five persons of Gobindganj and trial of the case was near completion in the court. The accused in the case might have hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him.

The police were conducting raids to arrest the criminals. East Champaran SP Upendra Kumar Sharma also visited the spot.
