Two quacks nabbed in Tamil Nadu

VILLUPURAM: Health department officials on Tuesday nabbed two quacks who were treating patients in clinics set up inside their medical shops at Soorapattu in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu .

Officials confiscated medical equipment from the clinics and handed them over them to the Kedar police.

The officials acted on complaints by the public. The accused have been identified as Sivanesan, 43, a pharmacist in Veeramur village who had pursued D Pharm and worked in several pharmacies in Chennai, and Delphina, 39, who completed a multipurpose health worker diploma course.

Joint director medical health service (Villupuram) Suganthi said the duo had been running two separate medical shops in Soorapattu village for more than one year. They were treating patients in secret clinics set up inside their medical shops.

The Kedar police registered a case.
