Two women college employees killed in car crash in Indore

INDORE: Two women employees of Acropolis Group of Institutes were killed and their colleague critically injured when a SUV collided head-on with their sedan car on MR11 in Nipaniya area on Thursday.

The victims were returning home from the college when the accident took place near a school on the busy road which connectes to the Indore Bypass , Lasudia police said.



The collision was so severe that the car was thrown to a side and overturned several times before coming to a halt. The victims were caught in the mangled vehicle , police said.

Driver of the SUV fled the spot, leaving behind the vehicle.

Police rushed the victims to a hospital where two of them succumbed to their injuries. The deceased were identified as Swati Yadav, 28, a resident of Bapji Nagar, and Vinita Tiwari Inani, 32, resident of South Tukoganj, Lasudia police station in-charge Santosh Dudhi told reporters.

Their colleague, Ruchi Pandey, a native of Chhattisgarh, sustained critical injuries and was under treatment.

Institute authorities confirmed that the victims were returning home from work. The deceased were working as trainers and officers in the career development cell of the institute’s placement wing.

Police claimed that Swati was driving the car when the accident took place. The scene of the accident suggests that the sedan car, in which women were moving, had crossed on the wrong side and then overturned.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.
