Two youths rob trader of Rs 1.5 lakh in Bundi district

Kota: A wholesale trader of grocery in Keshoraipatan town of Bundi district was robbed of Rs 1.5 lakh on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred while he, along with his father, was returning home from his shop on a bike. Two unidentified bike-borne youths snatched the handbag, which contained the money, from them in the main market.

No clue of the accused has surfaced so far. However, police have alerted the check-posts in the district and formed teams to nab them.

“The wholesale trader has been identified as Avik Jain. The incident happened 400 meters away from his house in the main market of the town,” said Abhishek Pareek, SHO at Keshoraipatan police station.

The victims chased the accused but they soon disappeared following which they reached the police station and lodged a case, the SHO said.

It may be noted that a robbery case, where an amount over Rs 10 lakh was robbed from two proprietors of a jewellery firm in Bundi city earlier last month, is unsolved. Neither the accused has been arrested nor has the cash been recovered.
