Udayanraje Bhosale, descendant of Shivaji Maharaj and NCP heavyweight from Satara to join BJP tomorrow

New Delhi: In a significant blow to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra, Udayanraje Bhosale, the descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi on Saturday.

According to local media reports, Bhosale will be reaching New Delhi along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He will be inducted into the BJP in presence of PM Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah. 

Bhosale had reportedly consulted his party members before taking the decision. While a number of NCP MLAs have joined the BJP in the recent past, Bhosale is the only MP to have taken the decision. On September 12, Bhosale met NCP supremo Sharad Pawar in Pune raising doubts over his then speculated induction into the BJP.
