UP: 29-year-old dies in Jalaun after being hit by BJP MLA'S SUV

JALAUN: A 29-year-old man died while two youths were seriously injured by a speeding SUV belonging to BJP MLA in Madohgarh area of Jalaun district on Wednesday.

Police said the SUV belonged to BJP MLA from Ruthili in Basti, Sanjay Jaiswal .

The deceased was identified as Upendra (28) while the injured Prince (19), and Nitin (15) were recuperating at the district hospital.

“Upendra, Prince, and Nitin were returning home on a two-wheeler when a speeding SUV hit them head-on near Mijhona turn. The SUV was returning from Datia district in Madhya Pradesh ,” said SHO Madohgarh, JP Pal.

On hearing the loud sound following the collision, other commuters rushed to the spot for help and informed the police and ambulance. Upendra was declared brought dead at the district hospital, said police.

Pal also said that none of the bike riders were wearing helmet.

"So far, no written complaint has been given by any family members of the deceased in connection with the accident. Hence, no case has been registered. If anybody comes to lodge a case then action will be taken as per the law," Pal told TOI.
