UP: Community health center doctor heading for duty killed in accident

AGRA: A 43-year-old community health center (CHC) doctor was killed in a road accident in Etah district.


Identified as Dr Vivek Upadhyay, the victim was posted at CHC Lalupura under Sahawar police jurisdiction of Kasganj district . The accident occurred on Thursday morning at around 9:20am near Ambari village on Sahawar road under Dehat Kotwali police jurisdiction of Etah district.

Station house officer of Dehat Kotwali Subhash Katheria said, “The doctor was heading to the CHC for duty on his motorbike when a dumper hit the doctor from the front. Vivek was killed on the spot while the accused driver managed to escape. We have seized the dumper and lodged an FIR for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, negligence and rash driving.”

Dr Vivek was a resident of Shanti Nagar colony of Nagar Kotwali Etah. His father Dr Narendra Pal Upadhyay practices in Etah.
