UP: Father of five girls kidnaps two-year-old boy in Etah, held

AGRA: A father of five daughters, who desperately wanted a son, allegedly kidnapped a two-year-old boy in Etah district . More than 24 hours later, he was caught by the police and the kid was returned to their parents.


On April 4 morning, accused Naushad, a resident of Ramzanpur village in Budaun district , had abducted the boy, Rishab who was at his maternal grandmother Indra Devi’s house in Hindu Nagar of Kotwali Nagar police jurisdiction of Etah district.



Following the boy’s kidnap, the family members had lodged a police complaint. Later, cops launched a probe in the matter. However, Naushad suddenly had a change of heart and decided to return the boy to his parents.

Cops said Naushad was caught from Etah bus stop on Sunday late night when he heading to Hindu Nagar to return the boy.

Additional superintendent of police (crime) Om Prakash Singh said, “After we received a complaint a team was formed and launched a search operation. On Sunday at 10pm, our men caught Naushad when he was heading back to return the boy to his family members.”

The ASP added, “During interrogation, accused claimed that since he had five daughters and no son, he decided to kidnap the boy.”
