UP: Saharanpur crime branch inspector among 3 killed in accidents on Agra-Lucknow expressway

AGRA: Three were killed and as many as six injured including a teenager in two different road accidents in Agra on Friday.


In the first accident, Saharanpur crime branch inspector Samarjeet Singh was killed along with his father-in-law Kamlesh. The two along with four others including Samarjeet’s two son, brother-in-law and kid were heading Siwan of Bihar from Ghaziabad.

Akash Tomar , superintendent of police, Etawah said, "The victims were traveling in SUV driven by Samarjeet’s elder son. The overspeeding vehicle was tilting toward right side, therefore the driver used handbrake and attempted to turn the car toward left, but it eventually turned-turtle hitting divider and killed the inspector and his father-in-law."

The accident took place at milestone 108.700 km at around 11 am under Saifai police limits.

Second accident occurred at around 3 pm near milestone 14 km in Dauki police limits of Agra district, when three men in a hatchback were heading home.

The deceased victim was identified as Ramshankar of Fatehabad, while the injured were Shivcharan and Damodhar.

According to police, the tyre of the hatchback exploded during the journey and driver Ramshankar lost control over the vehicle, and hit into divider.
