UP: Three of a family found dead in Allahabad

ALLAHABAD: In a tragic incident, a 50-year-old follower (peon) in police department identified as Bal Govind was found hanged while bodies of his wife Chandrawati (45) and elderly son Sunil (28) were found in a pool of blood at their official type I residence inside reserve police line campus under the limits of colonelganj police station late on Monday evening.

Upon being alerted, senior police officials including SSP Satyarth Anirudh Pankaj along with forensic experts rushed to the spot and carried out investigations.

SSP told TOI that the autopsy report would ascertain the cause of deaths as bodies have been sent for postmortem. He added that the case came to fore when younger son Bharat reached the house and spotted the bodies of mother and elder brother were lying a pool of blood inside a room while body of father was hanging from a ceiling.

He told police officials that the entire family members were disturbed over the condition of elderly son as he was mentally challenged.

SSP, meanwhile, said that investigations would reveal the real picture behind the mysterious deaths of three members of the family. The deceased peon was posted at range office.
