UPSC Civil Services Topper 2019: Pratibha Verma tops among women candidates- know her journey

Pratibha Verma of Uttar Pradesh is one of the UPSC Civil Services Topper 2019. The UPSC IAS Result 2019 was announced on August 4, 2020. Pratibha has secured third position overall and is the first among the women candidates this year. A total of 829 candidates have qualified the examination. The first rank holder is Pradeep Singh followed by Jatin Kishore and Pratibha Verma.

Pratibha who is working as in Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) as an Officer said that she wanted to become an IAS officer since childhood. In 2018 when she appeared for the UPSC Civil Services exam, she got 489 ranks in the examination. This year she has secured the third position.

She said, “I was inspired by the way IAS officers act as the first responder at the time of any crisis. They are always on the frontline at the time of difficult situations. That is why I decided to prepare again for the exam (after getting selected in the IRS), “ reported ZEE News.

Pratibha is a resident of Sultanpur in UP. During her preparation time, her parents were her biggest support. Speaking about her future plans in the administrative field, she discloses that she wants to work for women empowerment and children-related issues, especially in her home state Uttar Pradesh.

UPSC Civil Services 2019 preliminary exam was conducted in September 2019, main exam and interview were conducted between February to August 2020. A total of 829 candidates have qualified the examination. The mark sheet of the candidates would be available after 15 days from the date of declaration of result.
