Uttar Pradesh: Accused out on bail rapes minor girl in Sambhal district

Sambhal: A man, who was on out bail in a rape case and spent over a month in jail, has raped a minor girl after her father fails to pay borrowed money to the accused.

The crime occurred at a village under Baniather police station in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh district on May 5.

According to a report in

Times of India, the 23-year-old accused watched porn videos on mobile before raping the 17-year-old girl. The accused barged into the victim's house when she was alone at home. Police have filed an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

“The father of the minor girl stated that he had borrowed Rs 22,000 from the accused, and as he failed to repay the money, the accused raped his daughter,” the report quoted Station house officer of Baniather police station, Sanjay Kumar Singh, as saying.

The police said that the accused Hari Prasad was earlier booked for rape in the same village. He was sent to jail on March. But the woman complainant later backtracked from her allegations and he was released on bail.  

In February this year, a 21-year-old rape accused, who was out on bail, was arrested for for raping and murdering a 7-year-old girl.  The girl was found murdered in a local park in Nihal Vihar with her limbs tied with a rope.The accused’s father was also arrested for helping him in the crime.

In May last year, a 38-year-old man named, a taekwondo teacher was arrested, for raping and trying to kill a woman in Delhi. The accused was out on bail for robbery, stalking and molestation. The accused Chauhan was a serial offender in about a dozen cases.
