Uttar Pradesh: Attack on the people going for the funeral, investigation underway

Fatehpur: A 65-year-old woman died due to illness in an area of Aung police station area of Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh. People who went for the funeral of the deceased got attacked by around 50 people. After this, on receipt of information about the incident, the police reached the spot and got the body cremated.

The family took the dead body to the crematorium in Shivrajpur to perform the last rites of the woman, where due to the floods in the river Ganga, the mainstream of Ganga river went to Unnao district. Meanwhile, the victims were about to perform the last rites of the dead body in the river Ganga, that about 50 people attacked the victims by the stick. During this, someone made a video of the attack and went viral on social media.

At the same time, the police of both the districts reached the spot as soon as the information was received about the incident, and the last body was cremated and got the injured admitted by 108 ambulances to the local hospital, where the injured are undergoing treatment. According to the victim, he went to the banks of Shivrajpur Ganga to perform the last rites of his mother, where he started beating people with sticks. The police are currently investigating the case.
