Uttar Pradesh: Medical apathy claims another life; woman delivers dead baby on hospital floor in Bahraich

Lucknow: In another shocking case of medical apathy, a woman delivered a baby on the floor of the district hospital in Bahraich after allegedly being not attended by the hospital staff on time. The victim, Sarita Tripathi, lives in Shankarpur in Bahraich. The tragic incident took place on Wednesday when the family members took the woman to the hospital after her labour pain.

Meanwhile, paperwork took a long time, which eventually resulted in the intensified labour pain of the woman. As per a report by ANI, Sarita then was forced to deliver a baby on the hospital floor as the doctors failed to reach on time. The baby was born dead because of the negligence of the doctors and staff members of the hospital.

However, doctors claim that the baby was delivered before they could take the woman to the labour room."Woman's family was late in bringing her to the hospital, the baby was born dead because they were late and baby came out before we could shift her to the labour room," a doctor was quoted by ANI.

On the contrary, family members of the woman are agitated and alleged that due to the negligence of the district hospital, such incident happened.

Earlier this week, a 22-year-old woman gave birth to a baby on board a local train at Mumbai's Virar station in Maharashtra. Reports asserted that the woman and her child were taken to a hospital and now, both, in good health.
