Uttar Pradesh: Moradabad DSP among seven police officers given 'forced' retirement

BAREILLY: The Uttar Pradesh government gave compulsory retirement to at least seven deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) on Thursday.

All these officers have attained the age of 50. Santosh Kumar Singh, posted in Moradabad is among the seven officers whose retirement orders were issued on Thursday.

According to the government spokesperson, other officers given the forced retirement are Arun Kumar (assistant commandant of PAC 15th battalion in Agra), Vinod Kumar Rana (DSP Faizabad), Narendra Singh Rana (DSP Agra), Ratan Kumar Yadav (assistant commandant of PAC 33rd battalion in Jhansi), Tejvir Singh Yadav (assistant commandant of PAC 27th battalion in Sitapur) and Tanvir Ahmad Khan (assistant commandant of PAC 30th battalion in Gonda).

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has said on several occasions that officers who under-perform are free to quit or will be compulsorily retired.

Bareilly ADGP Avinash Chandra said, “It is a routine process and we have started preparing another list for the next year. Those officers are 50-plus and incompetent for police job are being given compulsory retirement.”

Notably, earlier this year, as many as 25 non-performing police officers of Bareilly, Pilibhit, Budaun and Shahjahanpur were forced into retirement by the deputy inspector general of Bareilly range, Rajesh Kumar Pandey.
