Uttar Pradesh: Transgenders take youth hostage, chop off his private parts in Farrukhabad

Shahajahnpur: Police in Uttar Pradesh have arrested three transgenders for allegedly chopping off private parts of a man in Farrukhabad district on May 8. According to police, the victim is a resident Sarthauli village which comes under Kanth area in Shahajahnpur district. The 22-year-old man was part of a band that performed at marriage functions.

The three accused were arrested by police from Farrukhabad on Monday.

The victim's name has been withheld to protect his identity. Superintendent of police, Shahjahanpur, S Channappa, said the police have filed an FIR under sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 326 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the victim's genitals were cut off when he went to perform at a marriage function in Rajepur area of Farrukhabad on May 8. The accused named Varsha, Ramu and Nahe befriended the victim and offered him tea laced with sedatives. When he fell unconscious, his genitals were chopped off.

“When the victim regained consciousness, he found that his genitals had been chopped off. The motive behind the act is yet to be established. Further investigations are on,” report quoted SP Channappa as saying.

The victim in his complain alleged that he was held captive where he was treated by a quack. The man also said he was tied in chain, but managed to flee from the house and reached his home.

According to a relative of the victim, the doctors say his condition is stable and they are conducting other tests on him and checking for any infections.

After the incident, the SP of Shahjahanpur has instructed all station house officers in the district to identify areas inhabited by transgenders and ensure no illegal activity is conducted by them.
