Uttarakhand: 34-year-old man succumbs to dengue in Udham Singh Nagar

RUDRAPUR: A 34-year-old man, a resident of Nayagaon village in Sitarganj of Udham Singh Nagar district, died of dengue on Saturday.


Iftikhar Hussain’s family was taking him to a private hospital in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, when he died midway. Hussain, a Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BYJM) leader, had been undergoing treatment for dengue for the past few days.

On Friday, Hussain was admitted at a hospital in the city. He was referred to a higher centre in Bareilly after his condition deteriorated. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Nearly a dozen persons have died of the disease in Udham Singh Nagar alone this year, although the deaths were not recorded by the health department.
