Uttarakhand: Two killed in cloudburst in Tehri, heavy rain alert in Rudraprayag

Dehradun: Heavy rain is taking place in many states across the country. In Uttarakhand, continuous rain has been continuing since late night in Tehri and Rudraprayag districts. According to information, a cloudburst has been reported in Tehri on Friday. Two people were reported killed in the incident.

The cloud burst in Theti village of Ghansali in Tehri at around 2 p.m.

The incident has added to the woes of the locals due to heavy debris in the area. According to information, the team of SDRF has reached the spot and is engaged in rescue operations. In Rudraprayag, it has been raining heavily since Thursday night. The village and market of Augustmuni Shili in Rudraprayag have been flooded due to heavy rains. The district administration instructed people not to stay indoors late in the night due to the torrential rains. The water level of Alaknanda and Mandakini river is also above the danger level.

On August 6, a cloud burst on the Mayali-Tehri road in Rudraprayag due to heavy rains. The Met department has issued an alert for continuous and heavy rain in Rudrapprayag. According to the Met department, rain will continue in Rudraprayag. The outbreak of severe rain in the mountainous areas will continue for a few more days.
