Vadodara: Eco-friendly idols at Ganesh pandals

Vadodara: Hundreds of pandals across the city will install an earthen Ganesha idol by children this year.

The city police and Chhatra Sansad have oined hands to promote eco-friendly Ganesha celebrations as well as message of traffic safety. Under the initiative ‘Bachey Boley Morya’, students from over 120 schools from the city will prepare clay idols.

“Celebrating Ganesha festival in eco-friendly manner will only help in keeping the city greener and free from pollution. Hundreds of children will be making the idols that will be distributed at different pandals,” said Anupam Singh Gahlaut, city police commissioner.

Krunal Sharma of Chhatra Sansad said, “Over the last two days, children from underprivileged families prepared the clay idols which will be displayed at InOrbit Mall on Sunday. Another group of students will make more idols on August 28 and August 29.”

“We will distribute all the clay idols to nearly 300 pandals in the city,” he said.
