Varsha, Nagendra emerge best u-18 athletes in Dakshina Kannada district meet

MANGALURU: Varsha of Mangala Athletes and Nagendra Annappa Naik of Alva’s Sports Club (ASC), Moodbidri emerged best athletes in the girls and boys u-18 age-group category in Dakshina Kannada district junior athletic meet 2019 that concluded here on Sunday. While Varsha logged 971 points, Nagendra with 958 points in his kitty emerge the best male athlete.

The two-day event was organised by Dakshina Kannada Athletics Association.

In the u-16 age-group category, Arya Rai (820 points) of ASC was adjudged the best woman athlete, and Mohammad Kaife Sheik of ASC (701 points), the best male athlete. Chaitanya S R, also of ASC with 716 points was adjudged the best woman athlete in the girls u-14 age-group category while this honour among the boys went to Kuladeep Kumar of Pompei High School (643 points). Clifford Joshua, former international athlete distributed the prizes.
