Velankanni special trains for summer

Madurai: To clear the extra rush this summer, the Thiruvananthapuram division of Southern Railway will operate the following special fare special trains in April, May and June. Advance reservation for these trains will commence at 8am on Saturday (March 9).

Train no. 06015 will leave Ernakulam at 10.15am on April 6, 13, 20 and 27, May 4, 11, 18 and 25 and June 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 (Saturdays) and reach Velankanni at 4.45am the next day.

Train no. 06016 will leave Velankanni at 6.50pm on April 7, 14, 21 and 28 April, May 5, 12, 19 and 26 May and June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 (Sundays) and reach Ernakulam at 12.30pm the next day.

The train will have two AC 3-tier, six sleeper class, four general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches. It will stop at Kottayam, Changanaseri, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayankulam Kollam, Kundara, Kottarakara, Auvaneeswaram, Punalur, Tenmalai, Sengottai, Tenkasi, Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar, Arupukkottai, Manamadurai, Karaikudi, Trichy, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.

Meanwhile, railways has provided a stoppage for train no. 16191/16192 Tambaram – Nagercoil – Tambaram Antyodaya Express at Kovilpatti railway station on an experimental basis for a period of six months from March 8 to September 7. Train no. 16191 leaving Tambaram will reach Kovilpatti at 10.26am and leave at 10.28am. Train no. 16192 from Nagercoil will reach Kovilpatti at 6.10pm and leave at 6.12pm.
