[VIDEO] Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu goes on an off-road expedition in Tawang

Earlier this month, Arunachal Chief Minister was seen riding a Royal Enfield Interceptor for 122 kilometers on a mountainous road in the state. Khandu rode from Yingkiong to Pasighat in 2.5 hours and successfully highlighted the charm of adventure tourism in the state.

He even shared pictures of his journey on Twitter and wrote it was an activity that offered picturesque views of the Siang valley and the villages of Adi Tribes.

“The attempt was towards promoting Arunachal as a dream destination for biking and adventure sports. The route offers the best picturesque views of the Siang valley and villages of Adi tribes,” he wrote on Twitter.

Just a few days after his mountainous bike ride pictures went viral, the CM has shared another video in which he is seen driving an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) in the treacherous and snow-capped roads of Tawang, which is approximately at an elevation of 3,048 meters.

The video, which was shared on Sunday night, has garnered over 1,500 views, 271 shares and hundreds of reactions from followers.

Besides the video, the Chief Minister also shared an album in which he is seen strapping a helmet before stepping inside the red-coloured ATV. The album also features some well-captured shots of the expediton.

“Off-roading at 15600 feet. A 107km ride from #PTSOLake to #Mago in Tawang district near the India -Tibet/China border,” the CM wrote on Facebook.

While many Facebook users commented saying the landscapes of Arunachal looked beautiful, some said Khandu’s efforts will lead to tourism growth and ATVs should be introduced for passengers.  

One user wrote, "This type of vehicle should be introduced for passengers from Itanagar to Naharlagun.”

“Good Job promoting tourism, Mr. CM. Though I was born and raised in Anjaw, I never got a chance to visit Tawang. You have certainly made me add it to my list of the next travel destination,” wrote another.
