[VIDEO] Ravi Shastri offers prayers at Mahakaleshwar temple ahead of D/N Test vs Bangladesh in Kolkata

Team India is all set to play its first-ever day-night Test from November 22 (Friday) at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The BCCI chief, Sourav Ganguly and organisers have left no stone unturned to ensure there will be enough footfalls throughout the course of the contest and the preparations are in full swing from both the dugouts to face the litmus test posed by the pink cherry.

With Virat Kohli and Co. are busy honing their skills against the pink-ball, head coach Ravi Shastri was seen offering prayers at the iconic Mahakaleshwar Temple, Ujjain prior to the Test match. The 57-year-old will be hoping for his side to cope up with the new challenge of the pink cherry as India gear up for their maiden Test under lights.

A Twitter user shared the video clip depicting Shastri's religious avatar:

After much reluctance, Kohli and Co. agreed on playing their first-ever day-night Test following a poor response in terms of turnout during the India-South Africa series in October. The newly-appointed BCCI chief Ganguly proposed the idea of trying the pink ball, and Kohli gave his green signal immediately.

Thus, India will be the last among the major Test sides to play the day-night Test. The pink ball had come into play during late 2015 with Australia and New Zealand being the first two sides to square-off under lights.

India will be eager to go for the kill in the second and final Test versus Bangladesh after demolishing them in the series opener in Indore. The first Test lasted for two and a half days as hosts thrashed Bangla Tigers by an innings and 130 runs in Holkar Stadium.

If India's winning streak continues, they will further bolster their lead at the top of the ICC Test Championship points table. At present, they lead second-ranked New Zealand (60) by 240 points.
