[VIDEO] Virat Kohli shatters stumps in anger during 2nd T20I against South Africa in Mohali

The stumps at the PCA Stadium in Mohali faced the ire of Indian captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday. Kohli was left furious after a wobbly fielding effort from Washington Sundar and vented out his frustration on the stumps. India eventually managed to win the game comfortably but the incident showed the competitive and furious side of skipper Kohli, who remains a livewire on the field and expects the same from his teammates.

The Indian captain likes to remain on top of his game every time he takes the field and always gives his all for the team. On Wednesday, Kohli was left unimpressed by Sundar's mistake on the field and broke the stumps in anger. The incident happened in the 11th over of the match when Sundar failed to save a boundary allowing Quinton de Kock to complete his half-century during South Africa's innings.

Batting first, South Africa were off to a solid start in the game with De Kock taking charge right from the first over. The southpaw posted a 31-run stand for the first wicket with opener Reeza Hendricks before adding 57 runs for the second wicket with Temba Bavuma (49). However, the Indian bowlers pulled things back towards the end of the innings to restrict South Africa on 149/5 in 20 overs.

Deepak Chahar was the pick of the bowlers for India finishing with figures of 2/22 in his four overs. India, in reply, made light work of the 150-run chase courtesy captain Kohli's brilliance with the bat. The Indian captain slammed an unbeaten 72 off 52 balls and combined with Shikhar Dhawan (40) to help India wrap-up an easy win with an over to spare.

Enroute his 72-run-knock, Kohli became the all-time leading run-getter in T20Is by surpassing Rohit Sharma. He was awarded the Man of the Match for his stellar show and equalled former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi's record of second-most Man of the Matches award (11). India will next meet South Africa in the third and final T20I in Bengaluru on Sunday.
