Virbhadra Singh's son marries Rajasthan princess

SHIMLA: Youngest Congress MLA of Himachal Pradesh and scion of erstwhile Bushahar princely state , Vikramaditya Singh on Friday tried the knot with Sudarshana Kumari of Amet Royal family of Mewar in Rajasthan. The royal wedding was solemnized at Amet in the presence of around 200 guests.


Vikramadtya Singh is the son of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh , former ruler of Bushahar, and former MP Pratibha Singh while Sudarshana Kumari is the daughter of Thakur Dheer Singh of Amet.



The engagement ceremony had taken place at Udaipur in October last year. While Vikramadutya Singh is first time MLA from Shimla (rural), Sudarshna Kumari is an interior designer. Ceremonies of royal wedding were held at Kanotagarh palace of Jaipur, sources said.

Sources said that members of Amet royal family had arrived at Narayan Niwas palace around 11 am on Friday for the Tilak ceremony of Vikramaditya Singh. Marriage procession started from Narayan Niwas palace for Kanotagarh in the evening. Special folk dance troupes from Kullu in Himachal Pradesh have been taken to Jaipur.

Around 200 members of Royal families from different parts of country had reached Jaipur to attend the royal wedding. Besides royal families of Sarguja in Chhatisgarh and Sitamau, royal families of Madhya Pradesh and Patiala were also present among others.

Though marriage ceremonies were held faraway from Himachal Pradesh, but Virbhadra Singh a six time chief minister of state and sitting MLA from Arki, has planned grand receptions at various places. Newlywed couple are expected to arrive in Shimla on Saturday.
