Visitors' entry restricted at Gaya hospital

GAYA: Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH) administration will regulate the entry of attendants and other visitors to the hospital.

The decision has been taken in the wake of theft of a newborn child on October 10 from the maternity ward of the hospital. ANMMCH superintendent Dr Vijay Krishna Prasad said attendants would be issued entry passes to prevent the entry of unauthorised persons in the indoor section of the hospital.

“Two attendants per patient would be allowed to enter the wards,” he said.

Apart from regulating entry of outsiders, the hospital administration will also put identity badges on the wrist of mothers as well as newborn babies. An awareness campaign would also be launched and posters cautioning the patients and attendants about any interaction with strangers and vigil of the newborns would be prominently displayed at important points on the hospital premises.
