Vivo S5 launched with diamond-shaped quad-camera module, punch-hole display: Price and specification details

Vivo has launched its latest S5 smartphone with a diamond-shaped rear camera module in China. The Vivo S5 features a punch-hole display which takes the screen to body ratio to 91.38 per cent. The company has claimed that the punch-hole display is the smallest ever at just 2.98mm. The Vivo S5 also features a 3D curved panel at the back which comes with a gradient finish.

The smartphone also sports an in-display fingerprint sensor which has been claimed to unlock the phone in 0.38 seconds. Also, Vivo is providing its Multi-Turbo technology which has been designed to increase the gaming performance on the smartphone.

The Vivo S5 has been priced at CNY 2,698 in the China market which is around Rs 27,700 for the 128GB storage variant. There is a second 256GB storage variant as well which has been priced at CNY 2,998 in China which is around Rs 30,700. The smartphone will be sold in the China market in three different colour options, namely Icelandic Blue, Phantom Blue, and Star Black. The Vivo S5 will go on sale in China starting November 22. The details about its availability and price in India have not been revealed yet.

The Vivo S5 operates on the Android 9 Pie with Funtouch OS 9.2 and sports a 6.44-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400. The aspect ratio is 20:9 and features up to 1200 nits of brightness. The Vivo S5 is powered by the Snapdragon 712 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM.

In the camera department, the Vivo S5 houses four camera sensors on the rear diamond-shaped camera setup. The camera setup sports a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an aperture value of f/1.79 lens and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle and an aperture value of f/2.2 lens that has 120-degree of a field of view (FoV). The phone has a 2-megapixel sensor with an aperture value of f/2.4 macro lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an aperture value of f/2.48 lens. Vivo has also gets a 32-megapixel sensor at the front along with an aperture value of f/2.45 lens.
