Wall collapse kills woman in Tamil Nadu

MADURAI: A 78-year-old woman died in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu after a wall of her house collapsed on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Elammal of Melatheru near Srivilliputhur.

The district experienced heavy rain on Thursday night. Following this, a wall of Elammal’s house collapsed.

The woman was trapped under the debris.

Fire and rescue service personnel rescued her and rushed her to a government hospital where doctors declared that Elammal was “dead on arrival.”

The Vanniampatti police registered a case.
