Warning of heavy rains in Uttarakhand, many roads closed

Dehradun: Warning of heavy rains has been issued in 3 districts of Uttarakhand on Sunday. According to the weather center, heavy rainfall may occur at many places in Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Almora districts. There is a possibility of heavy showers in most areas. Meteorological Department Director Bikram Singh said that light to moderate rainfall may occur in other parts of the state including the capital Dehradun.

There may also be 2 to 3 rounds of rain in most areas. It is sunny in the plains. At the same time, Badrinath and Yamunotri highway have been closed due to landslides in the morning. It has been learned that on Saturday, Badrinath highway was closed for about 3 hours at Bajpur and Lambagarh on Saturday. At the same time, Yamunotri Highway is also closed for 3 days.

Allweather Road work is stopping the hills: Due to the work of Allweather Road, the hills on the Badrinath highway are falling apart. In many places the route has reached narrow and crisp condition. From Nandprayag to Chamoli (10 km), the cutting of rocks under the All Weather Road is half-complete due to rain. Now even in light rain, debris and stones stuck on the rock are coming on the highway.

Allweather road project work at Birhi Mor, Kuhed, Hillary Park Nandprayag, Bhanerpani, Bajpur, Chamoli Chada, Pagnalala and Helang are increasing the risk of falling rocks. People are traveling on the highway putting their lives at risk. There is a landslide on some two hundred meter hill in Bajpur. Machines and manpower have been deployed at every place by NHIDCL, but due to the huge amount of debris and stones coming on the highway, people have to face the problem of jamming hours.
