Weather Update: Heavy Rain predicted in Uttarakhand, Badrinath-Kedarnath highway and Yamunotri roadway blocked

Dehradun: Right now the rainy season is going on, and during this time most of the states in the country are getting the maximum rainfall. Meanwhile, in many areas of Uttarakhand including the capital Dehradun, there is a possibility of rain on Tuesday. According to the Weather Department, moderate to light rain may occur over most areas in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Nainital, Champawat, Pauri, Haridwar, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi cities.

Some areas in Almora, Udham Singh Nagar and Chamoli cities may receive moderate rains with strong winds. Rudraprayag has been receiving moderate rainfall since morning. The landslide on the Gaurikund Highway has stalled for the third day. After the cloudburst incident on Monday, the situation in the village is still worrisome. Also, the footpath has been closed due to debris in the high Himalayan region near Yamunotri Dham.

In Chamoli city, traffic has stopped due to debris and boulder coming on Maithana, Bajpur, Chhinka, Bhanerpani, Kali Mandir, Pagalnala, Lambagad on Badrinath Highway. The road between Dewal road in Alkapuri, Narodhar, Tharali on Gopeshwar road has been blocked due to debris. SDRF has been put on alert at dangerous places. IG Garhwal Range Abhinav Kumar told that there are many dangerous areas in all the cities of Garhwal Range. A disaster-like situation arises due to sudden rains and water flow at these places. With this, residents have been asked to be vigilant in many cities of the state.
