West Bengal bypolls: ECI appoints police and general observers

KOLKATA: The Election Commission of India has appointed three police observers and three general observers for bypolls in Kaliagunj in North Dinajpur, Karimpur in Nadia and Kharagpur in West Midnapore district of West Bengal , scheduled on November 25.


The election commission is sending Dalton P Marik, Saroj Kumar Thakur and Devesh Kumar Mahla as police observers for Kaliagunj, Karimpur and Kharagpur respectively.

Rajendra Pratap Singh will work as general observer for Kaliagunj, Alka Srivastava and GT Pandya will monitoring Karimpur and Kharagpur respectively. Sources in the EC said that all the observers have been asked to take the responsibility immediately.
