KOLKATA: Jagdeep Dhankar accompanied by the First Lady Sudesh Dhankar will visit Dhamakhali and Sajnakhali in Sundarbans on October 22. Governor will arrive at Dhamakhali zilla Parishad guest house on the morning of October 22.
He will have an interactive session with the member of parliament of Basirhat parliamentary constituency, Sabhadhipati of North 24 Parganas Zilla Parishad, MLA of Sandeshkhali Assembly Constituency, Divisional Commissinor of Presendency Division, DM of North 24-Parganas, ADG and IGP of South Bengal, DIG of Police of Presidency Range, SP Basirhat, SDO Basirhat, Sabhapati of Sandeshkhali-II, Panchyat Samity, BDO of Sandeshkhali-II, ADG and IG of BSF. Interactive session will take place from 9-9.30 am.
After the interactive session Hon’ble governor will leave Dhamakhali for Sajnakhali at 9.40am and will arrive at Sajnakhali WBTDC guest house at 2:45pm via Hemnagar. He will also have an interactive session there with the MP, Joynagar Parliamentary Constituency, Sabhadhipati of South 24-Parganas Zilla Parishad, MLA of Gosaba Assembly Constituency, Divisional Commissioner of Presidency Division, District Magistrate of South 24-Parganas, ADG & IGP of South Bengal, D.I.G. of Police of Presidency Range, Superintendent of Police of Baruipur Police District, Sub Divisional Officer of Canning, Sabhapati of Gosaba Panchayat Samity, Block Development Officer of Gosaba, ADG of BSF, IG of BSF. Interactive session will continue for 45 minutes.
He will also visit Sajnakhali Forest Beat and nearby area from 3.45pm to 5pm. He will proceed for Rajbhavan, Kolkata via Dhamakhali at 7pm.
Governor Dhankhar on Saturday paid tribute to AtulATUPrasad Sen on the occasion of his 148th Birth Day. He observed: A lawyer by profession, Atul prasad Sen practiced in Calcutta, London and finally settled in Lucknow. But, he was primarily a composer, lyricist and singer of Bengali song. He excelled in patriotic, devotional and love song. He had a deep friendship with Tagore and he influenced songs of Kaji Nazrul Islam known as Nazrulgeeti. His songs and poems inspired many a young heart in pre-independence days and cherished even today. He is considered as an icon of Bengali musical tradition.
