When reel heroes met the real heroes: 5 times Bollywood celebs spent time with Indian Armed Forces

Our beloved Bollywood celebrities leave no opportunity to show their respect towards the armed forces that safeguard our nation around the clock. After the recent Pulwama attack and the strike by the Indian Air Force against a Jaish-E-Mohammed terrorist training camp in Balakot, several stars took to their social media account to not only pay their respect to martyred soldiers but to also applaud IAF's strike. 

In the past years, various Bollywood celebrities have taken out time from their busy schedules and spent a day with the army officials, to not only understand their hard life but to also engage with them in drills and games. Here's a list of 5 actors, who spent their time with people from the armed forces:

1. AKSHAY KUMAR:

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who has been a part of several films including Rowdy Rathore, Boss, Gabbar is Back, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and more is one of the most dedicated actors in the film industry. Amidst the promotion of his film Kesari, the actor took out time and visited BSF jawans in New Delhi. 2. SONAKSHI SINHA:

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha spent an unforgettable time with army soldiers in Bhuj. The actress who was there for a shoot tweeted about her experience. Her tweet read, "Certain experiences just become a part of who you are. Will never forget the time I spent with our amazing soldiers, tried some of the things they do, made them smile and left with an unforgettable experience."

 

 

3. Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam:

Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri, that was based on the 2016 Surgical Strikes conducted by the Indian Army against the Pakistani terror launchpads across the Line of Control in Kashmir, garnered appreciation from all quarters. As reported by an online portal, on the day the film released, a special screening was carried out for the Indian officials and their family members in the presence of Yami, Vicky and the director of the film, Aditya Dhar. 4. DEEPIKA PADUKONE:

In 2012, Deepika Padukone traveled to the Jammu border, in order to meet the Indian army soldiers on Independence Day. Although the actress was not feeling well, she kept her promise to meet the jawans. Talking about her experience, DNA quoted the actress as saying, "I enjoyed the tank ride and would like to do it over and over again. I really had a wonderful time while they took me through their training." Deepika reportedly learned rifle shooting and was put through a special training by the jawans. 5. RANBIR KAPOOR: 

The actor who has time and again impressed the audiences with his acting prowess in films like Sanju, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and more, spent a day with army soldiers in 2011. According to a report published by Hindustan Times, Ranbir got a first-hand look as to what the soldiers go through.
