'White honey of Himachal Pradesh hogs limelight at global investors meet'

DHARAMSHALA: White honey , the rarest variety of honey with cancer treatment properties, is in limelight at the exhibition stalls of global investors' meet in Himachal Pradesh at Dharamshala's hill destination.


White honey of Chamba, Kangra tea of lower Himachal Pradesh, Kullu shawls and apple products are on exhibition in global investors meet of Himachal Pradesh to woo about 1710 investors from about 20 countries.



“We have placeed 10 flavours of the honey at our stall of horticulture. The unique one is white honey as it is rarely available in India and other parts of the world. According to the experts, it has qualities to cure cancer” said Rajesh Sharma, a senior official of the horticulture department.

Next to this stall, the agriculture department has come up with saffron, Kangra tea and Shitake mushrooms.

Adjoining to it, the handicrafts and handloom corporation has come up with unique dresses, musical instruments and souvenirs of Himachal.

Director rank officers have been deployed to brief investors about the business opportunities in these sections.

Nearly 100 stalls of various department have come up at the highly decorated space in police ground of this hill destinations with snow covered peaks of Dhauladhar ranges on its back drop.

Pharma sector of state has also showcased the opportunities.

“We are ready to greet the investors” said Navneet Marvaha, state drug controller of Himachal Pradesh.

The other departments, Public Works Department (PWD), irrigation and health department (IPH), MPP and power department, and tourism department has come with their own projects.

PWD department has showcased a bridge of chief minister’s home constituency and few other architecture marvels constructed by them in various parts of the state.

IPH department as placed its irrigation model by harvesting rainwater. Rapid transport system development corporation has come up with the models of gondolas and rope ways proposed in state.

Tourism department has come up with scenic views of this hill state. “We have presented our top hill destinations and officials would be briefing the investors about the business opportunities there” said Sunayana Sharma, deputy director tourism department Himachal Pradesh.
