WODC chief requests PM to start cargo service from Jharsuguda airport

Bhubaneswar: Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) Chairman Subash Chandra Chauhan has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consider operation of cargo service from Jharsuguda airport for development of western parts of the State.

In a letter to the PM, Chauhan said there is immense potential for cargo service due to huge agricultural production in Hirakud Dam area and Sambalpur-Jharsuguda-Rourkela Industrial corridor.

This apart, he stated, “The phenomenal success of passenger service with ninety percent occupancy reflects the need of further expansion and extension.”
