Woman alleges rape by seven in Jhalawar district
KOTA: A 26-year-old woman in Jhalawar district alleged that she was gang-raped by seven men under the limits of Bhalta police station area.
The woman, in her complaint to the SP, alleged that around seven persons identified as Bane Singh, Ghanshyam, Dewan, Mangilal, Durgalal, Pappu and Magilal, waylaid her on Sunday evening, when she had gone to relieve herself.
They took her to a nearby forest and took turns to rape her.
The police filed a case on Thursday under Section 376-D (gang-rape) of the IPC against the seven accused. Three of the accused Bane Singh, Ghanshyam and Dewan are brothers. All accused are residents of the same village. The survivor had approached the SP on Monday and submitted the report by post, which reached Bhalta police station on Thursday from SP office. Medical examination of the survivor was conducted on Friday and efforts are being made to nab the accused.
