Woman dead, 6 family members critical as bus hits auto-rickshaw in Ganjam

Berhampur: In a tragic incident, a woman died while six of her family members suffered critical injures after a bus collided with an auto-rickshaw they were travelling in near Ambagad on Digapahandi main road in Ganjam district today .

The deceased has been identified as Ranjita Dalai of Gunasagar village.

According to reports, Ranjita along with her family was travelling in an auto-rickshaw to visit a temple at Ambagad this morning, when a private bus en-route to Digapahandi from here hit it near Ambagad. All of them were immediately rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital.

While Ranjita was declared dead by doctors, six others family members, including a seven-year-old boy were undergoing treatment at the hospital in critical condition. Later, the minor boy was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Meanwhile, a police team reached the accident spot after getting information, have started investigating into the matter and seized the bus.
