Work on Anantapur-Kalyandurg national highway disrupted

TIRUPATI: Road-laying works along the Anantapur-Kalyandurg National Highway was disrupted after miscreants ransacked the camp office of SR Constructions and damaged vehicles, computers, CCTV cameras and furniture at Kothapalli village in Atmakur mandal in Anantapur district on Sunday.


Company representatives lodged a complaint with Atmakur police alleging that the attack was carried out by followers of Raptadu YSRC MLA Thopudurthi Prakash Reddy.

The company, which stopped the works for a while, resumed road laying after police reached the site.

YSRC leaders denied the charges and said the incident was TDP handiwork
