Yellow warning issued for these Odisha districts for next 3 days

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre today issued yellow warning for 19 districts of Odisha while predicting light to moderate rain or thundershower at many places in interior Odisha and a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha till 8:30 AM on June 3.

The centre further said thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places in Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Cuttack districts.

The forecast is valid from 8:30 AM on June 2 to 8:30 AM on June 3.

Similarly, yellow warning was issued till 8:30 AM on June 4 for the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kandhamal, Boudh, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj. Heavy rainfall was predicted at one or two places in Ganjam, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj and Jajpur districts.

The Centre issued yellow warning for Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Cuttack, Angul, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak and Balasore districts till June 5.

There will be no large change in maximum temperature in Odisha during next 3-4 days and it will be below normal by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the districts of Interior Odisha during next 2-3 days, the centre said.

Today the day temperature was below normal over North Odisha and South Interior Odisha and normal over South Coastal Odisha. The highest day temperature of 40.7 degrees Celsius was recorded at Bolangir.
