Youth films video, calls mother before committing suicide in Rajasthan's Sikar

Sikar: A youth in Rajasthan's Sikar filmed a video of him and called his mother before committing suicide. Identified as Jawahar Singh, the youth used to work in Gujarat and had returned to his village on Thursday. Singh was a resident of Sanwloda Ladkhani village of Rajasthan. 

Before taking the drastic step, Singh called his mother and told her that he was ending his life.

He said to his mother that he was outside their village near a pond and was committing suicide there. 

Panicking after the call, Singh's mother and his family members rushed to the pond to save his life. By the time they reached there, the youth had already slit his throat. 

The video made by Singh has been recovered. Singh has named a girl in the video and has accused her of swindling Rs 7 lakh from him. Singh was allegedly in a relationship with the girl. Singh's family members have registered an FIR against the girl. 

Unable to repay cricket betting money, youth commits suicide in Telangana

On August 4, a 21-year-old youth committed suicide in Hyderabad as he was unable to pay the repay the money he had borrowed for betting on a cricket match. The police also recovered a suicide note in which the youth had mentioned the reason for his suicide.

In the note, the youth wrote in his suicide letter that he had lost a bet of Rs 40,000 during a cricket match. The deceased had borrowed the money from a friend who had been asking him to return it. As he was in no position to repay his debts, the youth resorted to committing suicide. 

Youth commits suicide by jumping before moving train in Thane 

In July this year, a youth ended his life by jumping before a moving train at Thane railway station. The deceased was identified as Akash Holkar. According to an investigation, Holkar was a resident of Ulhasnagar. 

Following the incident, a case of accidental death was filed at Government Railway Police (GRP), Thane. The incident was captured by the CCTV cameras installed at the railway station. The youth's father was accompanying him when the incident took place. The youth's father was identified as Chandrakant. 

The youth was coming back from a mental health facility. He had been receiving treatment at the facility for around two years. In the video of the incident, the youth could be seen jumping from the platform, on to the railway tracks and lying on them as the train was only a few metres away.
