Youth gunned down in Bharatpur, three held

Jaipur: A 24-year-old youth preparing for police and army recruitment exams was shot dead in a near Saaras Chauraha in Bharatpur on Friday morning.

Police, which arrested three persons in this connection, said a spat over making and uploading a video was allegedy the reason for the crime. Police said Devraj Gujjar, a resident of Baseri village in Dholpur, lived in a rented accommodation in Bharatpur to prepare for competitive exams.

“At 4.30 am, while he was walking towards Saaras Chahuraha, the assailants came in a car and a bike and opened fire. The youth sustained bullet injuries in his lower abdomen and chest and succumbed to injuries at a hospital,” said Bharatpur SP Haider Ali Jaidi.

Soon after the murder , police launched a manhunt and arrested three persons.

Police are also looking for four others who, too, were involved in the murder. “The person who opened fire would be booked for murder and those who accompanied him will be booked for criminal conspiracy,” he said.
