Youth hangs self in Kota, cops suspect joblessness as reason

KOTA: A 28-year-old youth from Baran district , preparing for Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam for obtaining a government job in Kota, late on Friday night committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling fan of his rented room in Mahavir Nagar Extension under Dadabari police station of Kota district . Stress due to unemployment and a possible poor performance in the recently held SSC exam is suspected to be the reason behind the extreme step by the youth, however no suicide note was recovered from his possession, police said.




A 28-year-old youth, identified as Mukesh Meena, resident of Baran district late on Friday night committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling fan of his rented room in Mahavir Nagar Extension of the city, said ASI at Dadabari police station. The deceased had been preparing for competitive exams in Kota for obtaining a government job and had recently appeared for the SSC exam, he added.

The landlord of the house spotted his body hanging to the ceiling fan of his room following which he informed the police, he said. Police on Saturday noon handed over the body to family members after postmortem and initiated further investigation to ascertain the actual reason behind his death, with a case under section 174 of CrPC, he further said.
