Youth held for blackmailing girl in Nagaur

JAIPUR: Nagaur police has arrested a youth from Jhotwara in Jaipur for allegedly blackmailing a girl who he had met in a coaching class. According to the complainant, the youth had taken few photographs and videos of hers which he was threatening to upload on social media. The alleged blackmail started following the girl’s wedding on March 12.

Dharampal Singh Meena, SHO, Maulasar police station in Nagaur district , where the case was registered told TOI,”when the girl was in the coaching class couple of years back in Jaipur, she befriended the youth who was also in the same class. The girl got married on March following which the youth allegedly started sending her videos and photographs, threatening to send them to her family as well. She then registered a complaint with us.”

The youth who is 25-year-old was arrested by the police from Jaipur and sent to 15 days of judicial custody.

“The youth whose name cannot be divulged, carried out the threat, the girl registered a complaint. He allegedly sent the videos and photographs to the girl’s husband as well. It appears to be a case of defaming the girl in front of her family and new-in-laws”, added Meena.

A case has been registered under section 384 (extortion).
