Yulu e-bikes launched in Delhi in partnership with Delhi Metro

Yulu, a Bengaluru based e-bike ride sharing start-up, has started its operations in Delhi. The micro mobility service, which was previously available in other parts of the country like Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai, has been launched in Delhi in partnership with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). According to a report by ETAuto,

Yulu, has deployed a fleet of 250 Yulu Miracle model of electric bikes in Delhi to facilitate last mile connectivity. However, the company plans to have 5,000 Miracles across Delhi-NCR. Yulu also intends to have 25,000 electric scooters by latter half of 2020 covering all the metro stations.

Amit Gupta, co-founder, Yulu, said, "Delhi is a megacity with extreme weather conditions. But considering that we have run Yulu Miracle for the past six months in Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai, we were reasonably confident of our business and the EV understanding of launching it here too. By December this year, we plan to have close to 5,000 Yulu Miracles across Delhi-NCR. The service will be further extended to all the metro stations by deploying up to 25,000 scooters by H2 of 2020."

To access these e-bikes, users will be required to download Yulu app on their smartphones and then follow simple prompts to locate the nearest Yulu Zone. Once the rider reaches the location of the bike, they will have to use a QR code to unlock it. Also, Yulu Miracle has a maximum speed of 25 km/h and you can ride one only if you are 16 years or above of age.
